The Flint Branch NAACP is delighted to announce its 39th<\/sup> Annual Freedom Fund Dinner, which will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 6:00 P.M., (VIP Reception 5:00-6:00 P.M.).\u00a0 This black-tie gala will be held at Holiday Inn Gateway Centre, 5353 Gateway Centre Dr., Flint, MI\u00a0 48507.\u00a0 This year\u2019s theme is \u201cWhen We Fight, We Win!<\/em>\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0 We celebrate the gains for freedom this organization has made in its 111 year history and our resolve to fight for everyone to be counted in the 2020 Census and fight that everyone registers to vote, while we fight that every eligible voter is able to cast an unfettered ballot in every election. \u00a0When We Fight We Win!<\/p>\n

This year the Sponsorship packets include a Scholarship Opportunity for our ACT-SO (Afro-Academic Cultural Technological Scientific Olympics) Program.\u00a0 This will allow scholarships for 9th<\/sup> -12th<\/sup> grade students who compete at the local level in the 32 different categories. \u00a0Please take a few moments to visit the NAACP ACT-SO website to see the benefits of supporting and encouraging our youth.<\/p>\n

The Flint Branch of the NAACP continues to edify the community through the implementation of initiatives which focuses on alleviating health and educational disparities, promoting financial equity, addressing labor discrimination, and providing scholarship endowments to Genesee County students.\u00a0 Facilitation of these initiatives is essential upon financial assistance and personal investments provided by you and the community as a whole.<\/p>\n
